Reliability

We do not sell an uptime number

A contractual uptime percentage is only worth something if the vendor can measure it, notice a breach without being told, and pay out without making you prove anything. We are not there yet. So we are not charging for it, and there is no uptime percentage attached to any plan.

Plenty of companies sell the number anyway. We would rather this page be dull and true than impressive and unenforceable.

What we actually prioritise

Link redirection above everything else. If we have to choose, a short link resolving correctly beats the dashboard loading, beats analytics being current, and beats this website being up at all. That is the part other people depend on, and most of them have no relationship with us — they just clicked something a friend sent.

It is also why the redirect path is deliberately simple: one database lookup and a redirect. No third-party calls, no JavaScript, no interstitial page.

What we do not yet have

Stated plainly, because you should be able to price this in:

  • No published status page.
  • No contractual uptime figure, and no service-credit scheme.
  • No multi-region failover. A serious outage at our host is a serious outage for us.

When these exist, this page will say so, and the commitment will appear in the terms with a date on it.

If we are down

Email info@fattyurl.com. A real person reads it.

If an outage meaningfully cost you a paid period, ask for the money back and we will give it to you. There is no credit schedule to argue about and no claim window to miss — see the refund policy. Until we can measure uptime properly, an honest refund is a better remedy than a percentage we cannot verify.

What never depends on your plan

A free-plan link and a paid-plan link are served by the same system, from the same infrastructure, at the same speed.

We do not degrade, deprioritise, queue or rate-limit free links to make the paid tiers look better. Deliberately slowing the free product would breach our promise, and it is written into our terms.

Support

One inbox, answered by a person, usually within a couple of business days. There is no priority queue — we are not big enough to have a queue to prioritise within, and pretending otherwise would just be another number we could not keep.

The one exception is real: suspected phishing or malware is triaged ahead of everything else, including for people who are not customers at all. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
